Video: The Nuggets rap Run-DMC for your holiday pleasure
It’s almost Christmas, and you know what that means: extremely awkward team videos for their fans! It’s a holiday tradition as old as the Furby, or maybe just YouTube itself. Fans love to watch them, teams love to make them, and bloggers love to post them. It’s a win-win for everyone! The video above features perhaps this year’s best entry: the Denver Nuggets rapping and dancing their way through the Run-DMC classic “Christmas in Hollis.” Al Harrington is definitely the most excited to be involved, Shelden Williams seems the most awkward, and Carmelo Anthony has the best hand-waves. The less said about Chris Andersen the better. The absolute best part, though, is that the Nuggets probably had to film this in October at Media Day. If they seem lacking in Christmas cheer, it’s probably because they were spending most of their time thinking about Halloween. On the bright side, they all had some pretty great costumes handed to them.
Create-a-Caption: That’s probably a foul, Wilson Chandler
This is neither the time nor the place to practice your ski jumping, Wilson Chandler. The time is “not when you’re guarding Kevin Durant,” and the place is “a ski resort of some type.” You’re going to need to hop on a mountain, bro.Best caption wins crotch on your shoulder. Good luck.In our last adventure: Evan Turner sees a generation rising up to take its place.Winner, Moe: “Umm … Derrick? Derrick Rose from Simeon? This is Evan Turner. You probably don’t remember me but I played ball in high school against you. And I, um, kinda gave you a hard time back then, and, uh, I did some things I thought were funny at the time, and realized they were just mean and stupid. And I just wanted to apologize and hope you forgive me.”NOTE: If this scene ends with Derrick Rose putting on lipstick and laying back on his couch as ELO’s “Telephone Line” plays, the NBA has officially risen to a level of weird for which I am ill-prepared.Runner-up, Robert C: “Maybe stealing brownies from the trainer’s room was not a good idea … but I don’t care right now.”Second runner-up, Justin: “We’re still only .5 game out. It’s a Christmas miracle!”

Mark Sanchez is ready to go for the New York Jets. Coach Rex Ryan announced Thursday that the second-year quarterback will start in the team’s regular-season finale against Buffalo, but is uncertain how long he’ll stay in the game. It’s possible Sanchez could play a few series or a few quarters before giving way to Mark Brunell and Kellen Clemens.

Jets fined $100,000 in tripping incident (AP)
The New York Jets are paying for their sideline shenanigans. NASCAR Betting: Can past performances predict a winner?
The Kobalt Tools 500, which goes off this Sunday at 1 PM ET in Atlanta, is not unlike many of the races on the Sprint Cup circuit in that it has gone by many names over the years, following the almighty sponsorship dollar. The race was fist run in 1960, and was known as the Atlanta 500, and maintained that name through 1980.

Eaves scores 3, Wings rally by Stars 7-3 (AP)
Patrick Eaves and the Detroit Red Wings had a lot of fun — at the Dallas Stars’ expense. Eaves had three goals for his first career hat trick, giving him six goals in his last seven games, and the Red Wings scored six straight goals in a 7-3 victory over Dallas on Wednesday night. Normally a checker and penalty killer, Eaves is enjoying his role as an offensive threat.
