The stat line says Mark Sanchez threw zero interceptions in Sunday’s AFC championship loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Let the record show that he did complete at least one pick: How I wish that either Sanchez or Mark Brunell was mic’d up for that exchange and that we’ll see the end result on an NFL Network show this week. I know that Pittsburgh had second-and-5 from the 9-yard line and the director had to cut away from the sideline, but what I wouldn’t have given to have seen how the “did you really just wipe your snot on me?” conversation was going to play out.

Big news: Fans to pick the Skills Challenge participants
Do you like watching players dribble through cones? What about uncontested jumpers from the top of the key? And seeing guys try to make bounce passes into peach baskets? You’d be a fool if you didn’t answer yes to all three questions
and that’s why the Taco Bell Skills Challenge is perhaps the most popular of All-Star Weekend events.But it sometimes seems a little stuffy

Those two are likely only included because the festivities are being held at Staples Center. Or maybe they changed the rules this year and ill-advised jumpers are part of the obstacle course. I also heard that Fisher lobbied to start a Most Impressive Yet Ineffective Defensive Stance Challenge
but no one else wanted to participate.It’s hard to pick just four players when everyone involved is so deserving

The Milwaukee Bucks have had a hard time putting the ball in the hole
all season long. The team is 29th in offensive efficiency (the big one)

U2 show shifts M’s-Marlins to Seattle (AP)
A three-game series between the Florida Marlins and Mariners from June 24-26 has been moved from Miami to Seattle because of a U2 concert. Major League Baseball said Thursday the change was made because of the scheduling conflict at Sun Life Stadium. The rock band U2 is scheduled to play at the stadium on June 29 and the Marlins must vacate the stadium to allow setup time for the concert.

Ravens promote Pagano to run defense (AP)
The Baltimore Ravens have promoted secondary coach Chuck Pagano to defensive coordinator, replacing Greg Mattison. Ravens cornerback Fabian Washington says the move was “way past overdue” and that Pagano should have long been an NFL defensive coordinator. Pagano has a reputation as an aggressive defensive coach.

Bears harass Hasselbeck, stifle Seahawks (AP)

Rookie Skinner lifts ‘Canes to win in SO (AP)
Jeff Skinner traded a few shoves with some bigger opponents, then delivered the shot of the night by scoring in the shootout. What the NHL’s youngest player hasn’t done yet is show his age.
