Video: Sanchez picks his nose, wipes it on backup
The stat line says Mark Sanchez threw zero interceptions in Sunday’s AFC championship loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Let the record show that he did complete at least one pick: How I wish that either Sanchez or Mark Brunell was mic’d up for that exchange and that we’ll see the end result on an NFL Network show this week. I know that Pittsburgh had second-and-5 from the 9-yard line and the director had to cut away from the sideline, but what I wouldn’t have given to have seen how the “did you really just wipe your snot on me?” conversation was going to play out.

Big news: Fans to pick the Skills Challenge participants
Do you like watching players dribble through cones? What about uncontested jumpers from the top of the key? And seeing guys try to make bounce passes into peach baskets? You’d be a fool if you didn’t answer yes to all three questions
and that’s why the Taco Bell Skills Challenge is perhaps the most popular of All-Star Weekend events. But it sometimes seems a little stuffy
in large part because the league picks the participants. That’s why
this year
Taco Bell is putting the vote in the hands of the fans. Let’s all celebrate with a Five Buck Box! It rocks
it rocks!Chris Paul has already been named to the competition
but here are your choices for his four challengers: Baron Davis
Tyreke Evans
Derek Fisher
Tony Parker
Stephen Curry
Derrick Rose
John Wall
and Russell Westbrook. How could you possibly narrow that list down?Everyone here is an established star or up-and-comer with the notable exceptions of Baron Davis and Derek Fisher. Those two are likely only included because the festivities are being held at Staples Center. Or maybe they changed the rules this year and ill-advised jumpers are part of the obstacle course. I also heard that Fisher lobbied to start a Most Impressive Yet Ineffective Defensive Stance Challenge
but no one else wanted to participate. It’s hard to pick just four players when everyone involved is so deserving
but here’s my attempt (in order of preference): Wall
Westbrook
Rose
and Evans. It’s always fun to see youngsters try their hand at the course against a wily veteran like CP3. You might have thought that there wasn’t room for any more exciting subplots in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge
but you were wrong.(Via NBA Facts & Rumors)
Video: Earl Boykins’ shot goes around
and around
and …
The Milwaukee Bucks have had a hard time putting the ball in the hole
all season long. The team is 29th in offensive efficiency (the big one)
30th in points per game (the one Mark Jackson would use)
and tied for last in the NBA in field-goal percentage with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Nobody should be tied for anything with the Cavaliers. But this? This is ridiculous. No ball should have to struggle like this
in order to find its way in:Earl Boykins could have counted out his height in inches (to 65) by the time his shot eventually went down.(Via Deadspin.)Follow Yahoo! sports on Facebook and be the first to know about the most interesting stories of the day.

A three-game series between the Florida Marlins and Mariners from June 24-26 has been moved from Miami to Seattle because of a U2 concert. Major League Baseball said Thursday the change was made because of the scheduling conflict at Sun Life Stadium. The rock band U2 is scheduled to play at the stadium on June 29 and the Marlins must vacate the stadium to allow setup time for the concert.

Bears harass Hasselbeck, stifle Seahawks (AP)
Julius Peppers, Brian Urlacher and the rest of the Bears defense are looking a little more like the Monsters of the Midway. Now, they’re one win from the Super Bowl. Back in the playoffs for the first time since the 2006 team won the NFC, Chicago harassed Matt Hasselbeck and held Seattle to 276 yards Sunday.
Seahawks can’t pull off second upset (AP)
A week after knocking off the defending Super Bowl champs, Matt Hasselbeck and the Seattle Seahawks played more like a team with a losing record than a division winner. Little went right for the Seahawks on a wintry day at Soldier Field. The Chicago Bears took control early and sent first-year coach Pete Carroll and the NFC West champs — the only team in the playoffs with a losing record — home…

Bergeron, Thomas lead Bruins in shutout (AP)
Patrice Bergeron celebrated his first career hat trick twice. Bergeron scored three times and had a goal temporarily credited to him in between as the Boston Bruins routed the Ottawa Senators 6-0 on Tuesday night. So the fans who didn’t throw their hats when Bergeron appeared to score in the second period — the goal was later reassigned to Brad Marchand — got another chance when Bergeron…
